We listen, act, and transform
My first career was as a teacher but I found I wanted to do more to help families, which is why I became a Marriage and Family Therapist. We go through many changes as an individual, part of a couple and family, sometimes we need help navigating those changes and making healthier new ones.I believe counseling is based on where you are in your journey, the goals you want to reach, and the things you need to say. My job is to help you figure out how to get there, how to reach them and how to say them.
My preferred method of treatment is based on the needs of the client rather than on my needs as a therapist. I believe it is important to remain flexible in my approach and to meet the client where they are in their journey. I have begun using a golden retriever in training named Murray in my sessions.
Due to covid I have gone online. Murray now has a buddy named Finely. They are taking turns with Walk and Talk sessions as long as weather and my body permit! I have also had a couple of other therapists join me which is why there are so many types of therapy and issues we cover.
